We are excited to announce that the Dashlane iOS app is fully compatible with iOS 18 and macOS 15 from day one, bringing you an optimized experience and new features that leverage the latest enhancements from Apple. With iOS 18 and macOS 15, Apple introduced new APIs around autofill and passkeys, and Dashlane has leveraged these innovations to provide an even more seamless and secure experience.
Enhanced Autofill Experience with iOS 18 and macOS 15
The autofill feature in Dashlane has always been about making your life easier by securely managing and filling in your passwords across apps and websites. With iOS 18 and macOS 15, Apple introduced new APIs that allow for an even smoother and more intuitive autofill experience, and Dashlane has made the most of these capabilities.
1. Autofill Verification Code
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a critical part of securing your online accounts, and Dashlane makes this process easier by not only generating and storing one-time verification codes but also automatically filling them in when needed.
No more copying and pasting 2FA codes! When you generate and store a 2FA code within Dashlane, it will be automatically available for autofill in supported apps and websites, streamlining your login process and ensuring your accounts are protected with minimal effort. Furthermore, you will be able to select from a list of available 2FA codes if needed.
2. Autofill from the Context Menu
Another even more exciting improvement in Dashlane’s integration with iOS 18 is the ability to autofill content directly from the context menu. When you’re typing in a text field, you can now long press on the field, access the Passwords option in the context menu, and choose Dashlane to autofill the necessary information. This new option enhances flexibility by offering a secondary, yet equally seamless, way to autofill your credentials, and other types of content no matter the situation.
This feature is particularly useful for non-standard login forms or when autofill isn’t triggered automatically. We will be working and leveraging this feature to support providing even more types of data for any text requests.
Automatic Passkey Upgrades
In addition to the autofill improvements, Dashlane now supports automatic passkey upgrades. As passkeys become an increasingly important part of passwordless authentication, Dashlane ensures that your passkeys are always up to date. When a website or app upgrades your account to use passkey where available - Dashlane will automatically update it for you. This means you never have to worry about manually keeping your passkeys current, adding an extra layer of convenience and security to your online life.
