Protect Every Employee Credential With Dashlane
Credential Risk Detection + Dashlane Nudges = Greater visibility and faster risk response
Cyberattacks frequently exploit human error and target employee credentials, a trend highlighted in IBM's Cost of a Data Breach Report. Compromised credentials are a common attack vector.
To combat this threat, we're excited to introduce two innovative features that empower security and IT teams to safeguard their organization's sensitive data. Dashlane goes beyond traditional credential management, proactively addressing the ongoing threat of credential-related breaches and continuously monitoring for at-risk credentials. Our new features help protect your organization from potential data breaches.
Introducing Credential Risk Detection: Uncovering hidden credential threats
Dashlane is giving IT admins the tools to understand their organization's password risks. Our Credential Risk Detection feature is part of our web extension. It gives organizations real-time visibility into weak and compromised passwords across all employees, even if they aren’t using Dashlane. Our advanced algorithms scan and detect at-risk credentials before they can be exploited. Now, IT admins can review the credential risk data and decide whether to add vulnerable employees to the Dashlane plan.
At Dashlane, we prioritize privacy and security. Sensitive customer data is safe, private, and secure. Our zero-knowledge architecture ensures that no one, not even Dashlane, can access the credential data. Learn more about Credential Risk Detection at our Help Center.
Here's how it works:
- Effortless deployment: Once the Dashlane web extension is mass deployed and installed on all employee browsers, Dashlane can monitor credential risks across managed work devices.
- Real-time visibility: The extension continuously monitors credential data for all employees, including employees, logged out of Dashlane, inactive plan members, and those using shadow IT.
- Risk detection: Dashlane leverages advanced algorithms to securely identify at-risk credentials, highlighting the number of weak or compromised passwords that pose a security threat.
- Actionable insights: Comprehensive reporting and activity logs give admins a clear picture of their organization's credential risk posture. This includes inviting at-risk employees to join the Dashlane platform to strengthen the organization’s overall password security health.
Dashlane Nudges: Real-time alerts to protect employee credentials
Risk awareness is the foundation for building a strong security posture. Nudges are automated alerts that reach employees in their day-to-day workflow and inform them about their compromised, weak, and reused passwords. The notifications are personalized for each employee and help them securely protect their credentials in the Dashlane vault without any time or effort from IT. To bridge the gap between risk detection and response, IT admins can activate Dashlane Nudges and integrate it with their Slack app.
For instance, if a data breach occurs and an employee's credentials are compromised, Dashlane sends that employee a Slack message to update their compromised credentials. This helps reduce the risk of account takeover and educates employees on the importance of secure credential management. By providing timely detection and response mechanisms, Dashlane helps companies continuously improve their overall security posture. Learn more about Nudges at our Help Center.
Here's how it works:
- Easy setup and activation: Admins can configure automatic Nudges in their Admin Console. Nudges will alert employees about any at-risk credentials saved in their vault.
- Automated employee notifications: Dashlane continuously monitors for breached data. When It detects that an employee's credentials have been compromised or that they have weak or reused credentials in their vault, it sends the employee a direct Slack message.
- Prompts to secure credentials: The message clearly states the number of compromised, weak, or reused passwords and links to your vault, where you can easily change at-risk passwords.
With these new releases, Dashlane creates a security-enhancing feedback loop that addresses a critical challenge businesses face: the lack of comprehensive visibility and actionable data to manage credential security risks effectively. By delivering proactive protection, enhanced visibility, and simplified security awareness, Dashlane empowers organizations to take control of their credential security and safeguard their valuable data.
