Third Party Subprocessors
Updated: November 7, 2024
Europe’s GDPR, California’s CPRA, and similar regulations worldwide (“Privacy Laws”) require companies that “process” “personal data” (as those or similar terms are defined by the Privacy Laws) to take certain steps to protect this data and the privacy of those to whom it relates. One requirement is to disclose certain information about any entity the company may share personal data with in the course of providing services and conducting its business. Dashlane’s list of these “Third Party Subprocessors” is below.
Our subprocessor agreements are governed by the following principles:
“Secured Data” (data users store on our software) can only be accessed by an authenticated user on a verified device. When in transit and stored on Dashlane servers, each user’s Secured Data is encrypted with a unique key that Dashlane does not have. This is a fundamental feature of our privacy-by-design architecture and means that Dashlane and its subprocessors cannot access Secured Data. Furthermore, only one subprocessor (AWS) processes Secured Data. See our Security Whitepaper for additional details.
We do not collect any “sensitive data” (demographic information, government IDs, etc.) or financial information (all payments are processed by third parties, and we can only access information needed to verify payments) to administer accounts. The only personal data a user must provide to create an account is an email address.
We never sell our users’ personal data.
Subprocessors only have access to personal data they need to perform their contracted obligations.
We review the security practices of all subprocessors when initially engaging them and upon contract renewal, and we ensure that the contractual provisions regarding the handling of personal (and other) data is appropriate to the material that such subprocessor handles.
